Location: Woodstock, Oxfordshire
Project: New Build Orangery / Extension
Property: Residential home
Material: Aluminium frames with flat skylight, aluminium bifolds, uPVC fascia & gutter
The Brief
Our clients in Woodstock wanted to replace their dated conservatory with a modern, functional orangery-style extension that would connect seamlessly with the rest of the property. The new space needed to be light-filled, thermally efficient, and versatile — with careful integration into the existing home. Working collaboratively, we created an orangery design that would suit the homeowners’ needs and create a beautiful focal point along with extra space. This bespoke design was designed with thermal performance in mind, ensuring the large windows and glazed roof sections are insulating while allowing natural light to flood the interior.

Our Approach
We began by removing and disposing of the old conservatory to clear the site. To improve access for the build, we took out the back garage door and replaced it with a new uPVC door, then installed a fire-rated door from the new room into the garage for safety compliance.
The construction started with a fully insulated base built level with the property’s existing floors, ensuring a smooth internal flow. Externally, we built a new stone wall in matching stonework to tie the extension into the property’s character, and fitted new uPVC fascia and guttering for a neat, durable finish.
Key Features
- Flat skylight measuring 2m x 1m, flooding the room with overhead light
- Aluminium bifold doors opening the space onto the garden
- Aluminium side window for additional natural light
- Parapet wall built on the garage wall to complete the exterior detailing
Internal Adaptations
To integrate the extension with the existing interior, we removed the wall between the dining room and the new room, creating an open-plan layout. We also:
- Moved one radiator to suit the new arrangement
- Changed two wall lights for updated fittings
- Relocated a gas pipe to accommodate the new build safely and efficiently
Full Project Management
This was a multi-faceted project requiring coordination between building, structural, plumbing, electrical, and finishing trades. Our in-house team handled every stage — from demolition to structural alterations, utility moves, compliance checks, and final detailing — ensuring the work progressed seamlessly and to schedule.

The Result
The completed orangery extension is modern, bright, and perfectly integrated with the home. The large flat skylight and bifold doors create a light, airy atmosphere, while the open-plan layout enhances functionality and flow. Externally, the matching stonework ensures the extension looks like it’s always belonged to the existing property.
This project highlights our ability to deliver comprehensive build solutions — handling everything from major structural work to fine finishing details. The finished living space encompasses the very best of traditional design principles with a modern, sophisticated list.
