The Brief

This client in Stroud wanted more than just an upgraded conservatory — they wanted a complete transformation. Their existing structure was dated and no longer functional, and their goal was a warm, elegant, fully integrated orangery that would feel like a true extension of their home.

They needed a company who could take care of everything — no chasing trades, no managing timelines. Just one expert team, handling the lot. And that’s exactly what we delivered.

Our Approach

We began by safely dismantling and disposing of the old conservatory, including breaking up the original walls and base and clearing all waste from site. A fully insulated new base was laid with 600mm dwarf walls to provide the perfect structural foundation.

From there, we undertook substantial internal remodelling:

  • A 4-metre structural steel lintel was installed in the kitchen to allow for the removal of the existing wall, opening the space into the new orangery.
  • A further 3.6-metre lintel was fitted in the lounge for the same purpose.
  • Existing kitchen waste was sealed and rerouted.
  • The entire orangery interior was fully plastered to a smooth, high-quality finish.

The hardwood structure was crafted in Sapele and painted in Farrow & Ball’s French Grey — both inside and out — to create a beautifully soft, sophisticated tone that works effortlessly with modern and traditional interiors alike.

Heating was provided by two white, water-fed radiators for energy-efficient comfort, and the full electrical fit-out included 12 downlights on a switch and 4 double sockets, ensuring the space was not only stylish but also practical and future-proofed.

Planning & Compliance

As part of our complete turnkey service, we handled all necessary paperwork and technical requirements, including:

  • Planning permissions
  • Building control liaison
  • SAP Calculations for energy compliance

Our clients never had to lift a finger — every detail was handled by our team, from site preparation through to handover.

The Result

The completed orangery is a stunning transformation. Light, open, and seamlessly connected to both the kitchen and lounge, the new space feels like it has always been part of the home.
